The 19 fox ranks
At Sudoku Sagax you grow from a fox cub to the immortal Sagax. Your total points set your rank: 19 tiers that accompany your journey through thousands of puzzles. Each rank unlocks its own fox artwork that you can wear as your profile picture.
Why fox ranks?
The name is no accident. "Sagax" is Latin for keen-witted and sharp-scented, and the fox has always been a symbol of cunning, patient work, exactly the qualities a good Sudoku rewards. That is why every tier carries a fox name, from the clumsy Fox Cub to the immortal Sagax. So the ranks quietly tell a little story of your progress.
How the rank system works
For every level you solve you collect points; harder tiers give more. The sum of all your points is your overall total, and that total decides your rank. When you reach the point threshold of the next rank, you rise automatically; a rank can never be lost. The thresholds deliberately keep growing toward the top, so that even the highest tiers stay a real long-term goal.
You reach the first ranks after just a few levels, and progress feels quickly noticeable. Further up, the tiers deliberately move apart: from Fox Cub to Legend of Sagax lie 700,000 points, up to Sagax Immortalis even 5.7 million. The rank system is therefore less a sprint than a long journey that accompanies you over many weeks and months; every new rank is a visible milestone along the way.

Tips for ranking up
Your point total grows fastest when you dare to take on higher difficulties: Hard and Extreme give considerably more points than Easy once you trust yourself with the tiers. It also pays to solve cleanly and briskly: every level awards up to three stars, and good times show up in your balance. Whoever uses notes consistently avoids mistakes and reaches the goal safely even with few givens.
Regularity matters just as much. The daily challenge brings fresh points every day, and a growing streak keeps motivation high. Over the weeks even short play sessions add up to solid jumps, and at some point the next fox rank appears on the horizon. In the end it is not the single puzzle that counts, but consistency across many.

Alongside the 19 ranks there are further milestones and achievements that arise purely from your statistics, for instance for your first solved level or for 100 solved levels. These run independently of your rank: you can unlock achievements without ranking up, and just as well rank up without collecting every achievement. Together the two systems keep the game motivating over a long time.
